OPERATION NEW UNIFORM COHORT 21 GRADUATION CEREMONY
OCTOBER 4, 2017, HOSTED BY BIRDIES FOR THE BRAVE AT THE PGA TOUR
JACKSONVILLE, FL (SEPTEMBER 22, 2017) – Military members transitioning from active duty to civilian life face many challenges when they return home – not the least of which is the ability to obtain high-paying, rewarding career opportunities. Although educated, trained and highly skilled, these veterans often find themselves less competitive in the professional marketplace compared to civilian candidates who have taken a more traditional path.
Enter Operation New Uniform (ONU), a Jacksonville-based non-profit organization dedicated to addressing these challenges by equipping veterans with the business acumen, career search skills, confidence and networking connections to thrive in the business world (operationnewuniform.org). Since the first Cohort in 2014, ONU has served 158 Veterans. The programs they go through immerse the Veterans in a positive team environment comprised of successful Veterans, business professionals and accomplished educators, and gives them the tools and resources to secure meaningful careers.
On Wednesday, October 4th, ONU will graduate their 21st cohort of Veterans. Before them, 158 Veterans graduated from ONU’s programs. As a result, 96% of them now have fulfilling careers. Cohort 21 will graduate 11 more ONU veterans and they will be honored during a graduation ceremony scheduled to take place at the PGA TOUR Media Center (100 PGA TOUR Blvd, Ponte Vedra Beach, FL 32086) from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m on October 4th.
At Cohort 21 graduation, Operation New Uniform will be recognizing its newest ONU Veteran Committed CompaniesTM: The Red Coats from THE PLAYERS Championship as a Silver Supporter, and Adecco and Florida Blue as Bronze Supporters.
“We are proud of our community and its growing support of the veterans at Operation New Uniform. Commitments to the ONU Veteran Committed CompanyTM program allow us to serve more veterans from our community, while at the same time formalizing and highlighting the good work and impact our partners make in the veteran space. Being able to say the Red Coats, Adecco and Florida Blue are committed means a great deal to the ONU Team, the veterans we serve, and the community we share.”, said ONU Executive Director Justin Justice.
Guest speakers will include Jack Garnett, Captain of the Red Coats from THE PLAYERS Championship, Operation New Uniform Staff and each of the Cohort 21 ONU Veterans.
