Since 2014, we have served 232 Veterans, each with a different story to tell. The success of our organization is because of our Veterans, their hard work, determination and dedication to finding a career after their service has completed.

Meet the current Cohort: Cohort 27

ONU Cohort 27:

Philip Ayles served eight years in the U.S. Army as a Military Police Officer. Philip has a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice from Saint Martin’s College, a Master’s Degree in Public Administration from Seattle University, and is seeking a career in Logistics and Transportation

Yolanda Blount served 14 years in the U.S. Navy and U.S. Navy Reserves as a Radioman, and is currently serving in the U.S. Air Force in Logistics. Yolanda has a Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychology from Michigan School of Psychology, and is seeking a career in Logistics or Victim Advocacy.

Jonathan Boyd served 16 years in the U.S. Marine Corps as a Supply and Logistics Officer. Jonathan received a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education from Tuskegee University, and is seeking a career in the Airline Industry.

Chahn Chess served eight years in the U.S. Navy as an Environmental Management Officer. Chahn has a Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry from Norfolk State University, Master’s Degree in Global Health from Loma Linda University, and is seeking a career in Public Health or Emergency Management.

Matthew Clark served 26 years in the U.S. Navy as an Independent Duty Corpsman. Matthew has a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Grantham University, and is seeking a career in Medical Practice Management.

Deryl Jones served 20 years in the U.S. Navy Submarine Service as a Navigation Electronics Technician. Deryl has a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of North Florida, and is seeking a career in Engineering or Project Management.

Christopher Laufman served 24 years in the U.S. Navy as an Executive Operations Officer. Christopher has a Bachelor’s Degree in Aviation Management from Hampton University, an M.B.A. from the Liberty University School of Business, and is seeking a career in Operations and Project Management.

Darius Vergara served 26 years in the U.S. Navy as a Healthcare Operations Officer, and has a Bachelor’s Degree in Healthcare Management and a Master of Public Health (MPH). Darius recently completed a Human Resources Professional Certificate from Syracuse University and recently received certification in OSHA 30 and HAZWOPER (Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response), and is seeking a career in Operations Management.
